Hi, I’m Liliana Rubiano—call me Lili! 😊 I’m a proud mum, small business owner, and lover of all things family, travel, and community. 🌏💛 I’m the founder of Tolu Australia, where we bring vibrant, eco-friendly beachwear to life—designed for adventure, connection, and effortless beach days. 🏖️

It all started back in 2013 at the Bondi Markets selling Panama hats, but Tolu truly took off in 2017 when I left my career in international logistics to follow my passion for entrepreneurship. Inspired by my Colombian 🇨🇴 roots, I began importing bold and stylish men’s swimwear crafted by talented artisans. 

Over time, we grew to include matching father-and-son swimwear 👨‍👦, lightweight Turkish towels 🏊‍♀️, cozy kids’ poncho towels, reusable water bottles and arch support thongs—perfect for making family beach days fun, vibrant, and hassle-free.

Along the way, I studied fashion business, gained experience with brands like Prada and Tiffany & Co., and partnered with amazing retailers like The Iconic, Myer and David Jones.

🌟 After navigating challenges (like pivoting during COVID!) and expanding my family, I’m thrilled to now share a range of products that celebrate family, connection, and my love for Colombian craftsmanship and Australian beach lifestyle. 💫

We believe beach days should be fun, vibrant, and effortless—bringing relaxation and family togetherness.

We’re not 100% sustainable yet, but we’re committed to the journey—taking meaningful steps every day towards a more sustainable future.

For instance each one of our swim short is thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted in Colombia, using certified recycled materials. 🌱 Our fabrics meet the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, ensuring they are free from harmful substances and gentle on sensitive skin. 🤍 Additionally, they carry the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification by Ecocert Greenlife, guaranteeing they are made from recycled materials and produced with the highest environmental and social standards. 🌏✨ (read more about our sustainability journey here: recycled materials)
